EX & engagement tools and ideas for you from our 2022

Rather than a round-up of our year, we wanted to share some ideas and tools we’ve been experimenting with. These have created impact for us and our clients, and I hope they will for you too.

The tools and ideas below all come from our work in the following spaces:

  • Employee experience vision and strategy development

  • Values discovery and embedding

  • Employee experience capability building and team building

  • Employer branding

  • Innovation sprints

Define your EX strategy

If you are looking to create alignment about what a great employee experience looks like, use this canvas to surface ideas from different stakeholders. We recently used it virtually with a global business to start a collaborative EX strategy development process.

EX maturity assessment

(from the EX Design Club with our friends at PeopleLab)

If you’d like to understand more about where you sit on the EX maturity path, get in touch. We can help you make sense of your maturity against four measures – focus, mindset, involvement and impact.

If you prefer the DIY approach, download the EX Maturity Model here. Work through the four measures and ask stakeholders to rate each dimension. Look at where you are scoring well, and below average, and where there are differences of opinion.

Onboarding research safari – an interactive workshop design

If you struggle to make sense of the data you have on your onboarding experience, you are not alone. We are working with a global medical devices company to deliver a distinctive welcome to new hires wherever they are – one that impacts performance, engagement and innovation. We have designed an immersive research safari to help the team make sense of multiple sources of data: New hire survey and interviews, stakeholder interviews, line manager survey.  The safari uses a range of tools including pen portraits, journey maps and service blueprint.
